These terms of use, together with this site’s privacy policy, set out the terms on which you may use this site. Please read these terms of use carefully before you start to use the site.

About us

The Friendship Project for Children is a Warwickshire based registered charity (charity no 517684) supporting disadvantaged children.  It was established in 1986 and receives referrals from Warwickshire Children’s Services, Schools and other local authority agencies.  The referred children are supported by volunteers on a one to one basis. The volunteers are subject to a formal recruitment procedure including advanced DBS checks. This is followed by various training including Safeguarding and ongoing monitoring and checks.

Lawful use

You agree to use this site only for lawful purposes, and in a manner which does not infringe the rights, or restrict, or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the site by any third party.  Any photographs, images, videos or sound recordings of children used on this site have been authorised for use in relation to The Friendship Project to illustrate some of the events the participants have been involved with.  These can not be replicated or used elsewhere without the consent and written authority of The Friendship Project.

Processing information on you

We process information about you in accordance with our privacy policy which is fully explained under the Privacy Policy tab.  By using this site you consent to such processing and you promise that all data provided by you is accurate.

Site access

Access to this site is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide on this site without notice.  From time to time, we may restrict access to some parts of this site to users who have registered with us. 

Password protected areas

If you are provided with a user identification code, password or other security procedure information to this site, you must treat such information as confidential and you must not disclose it to anyone else.

We have the right to disable any user identification code or password at any time.

You are responsible for ensuring that all persons who access our site through your internet connection are aware of these terms, and that they comply with them.

Liability

We do not accept any liability or responsibility arising from any reliance placed on such materials by any visitor to this site, or by anyone who may be informed by any of its contents.

This site and the information, names, images, pictures, commentary, advice and other materials posted on this site are not intended to amount to advice on which reliance should be placed.   Logos regarding or relating to The Friendship Project for Children are provided ‘as is’ without any representation or endorsement made and without warranty of any kind whether express or implied. In no event will The Friendship Project for Children be liable for any damages including, without limitation, indirect or consequential damages, or any damages whatsoever arising from the use or in connection with such use or loss of use of the site, whether in contract or in negligence.  This does not affect any liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence nor any liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or misrepresentation as to a fundamental matter, nor any other liability which cannot be included or limited under any applicable law.

The Friendship Project for Children takes no responsibility for the content of external websites.

No warranties

The Friendship Project for Children does not warrant that the functions contained in the material contained in this site will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that this site or the server that makes it available are free of viruses or bugs or represents the full functionality, accuracy and reliability of the materials.

Any communication that you transmit to, or post on, any area of the site including any information, or the similar material, is, and will be treated as, non-confidential and non proprietary information.

Unauthorised use

Commercial use or publication of any content displayed on this site is prohibited without permission from The Friendship Project for Children. Nothing published on this site shall be construed as conferring any licence by The Friendship Project for Children to use any content displayed.

Documents may be copied for personal use only on the condition that copyright and source indications are also copied, no changes are made to these and the document is copied entirely. However, some documents and photos may have been published on this site with the permission of copyright owners (who are not The Friendship Project for Children). All rights are reserved on these documents and permission to copy them must be requested from the copyright owners (the sources are indicated within these documents/photographs).

Conflict

Where there is any conflict between these terms and conditions and rules and/or specific terms of use appearing on this site relating to specific material then the latter shall prevail.

Site security

You must not misuse this site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which are malicious or technologically harmful.  You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to this site, the servers on which this site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to this site. You must not attack this site via a denial-of-service attack or a disrupted denial-of service attack.

By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use this site and any other site we operate will cease immediately.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, viruses or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of this site or your downloading of any material posted on it or on any site linked to it.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England, Wales and Scotland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England, Wales and Scotland.

Changes to these terms and conditions

The Friendship Project for Children reserves the rights to change these terms and conditions at any time by publishing such changes online. Your continued use of this site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of this agreement as modified.
