I am just at the beginning of exploring a friendship with my new Younger Friend. I have previously seen a young lady over a period of approximately five years. Crucially, I also gave myself a few months off in between friendships to ensure I really wanted to go onto this journey again.

Stating the obvious, these two girls are very different. No two people are ever the same; that would be somewhat boring. In no way do I wish to compare them, they are both making an important contribution towards their families, respective schools and community.

So far we have enjoyed a walk in the park and eaten ice cream. My new Younger Friend reckons that I know a lot about plants. I don’t really, I just enjoy them.

We also had a trip to Dice Box in Leamington. We had a real giggle there, as we both realised about simultaneously that we had somewhat bent the rules to an extent where no one could win decisively.
It didn’t matter. We just introduced a new last-five-minute rule that gave her in the end one or two advantage points.

I am sure we will learn from each other!
