We are looking to recruit a Hon Treasurer.
There will be handover/training support available, as needed.
Job Purpose
To provide timely and accurate financial information to the trustees to enable them to manage the charity effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monthly tasks:
• Maintain and process payroll for employed staff members
• Process volunteer expenses on a monthly basis
• Make NEST payments (direct debit) and HMRC submissions on a monthly basis
• Update external contractor re wages changes, for their payroll support and administration
Other
• Receive approved suppliers’ invoices from Operations Team or Trustees, and pay by either cheque or bank transfer
• Pay in cheques received from funders when necessary
• Maintain Cash Book for each bank account (in excel format) including analysis for year-end accounts
• Reconcile Bank statement at month end
• Monitor valuation of investment
• Prepare management accounts on quarterly basis in advance of Trustees meetings
• Prepare year end accounts (accruals basis)
• Liaise with Independent Examiner
• Prepare Budget for Trustees to agree or amend
• Respond to questions/queries from Trustees, staff members and volunteers
